PATERSON – As part of the building support for Congressman Bill Pascrell in the upcoming 9th District Democratic Primary, the Communication Workers of America (CWA) Local 1039 today announced its endorsement of Congressman Pascrell.
“I am pleased to announce our strong endorsement of Congressman Bill Pascrell,” stated Lionel Leach, President of CWA Local 1039. “Congressman Pascrell is a forceful fighter for working families in New Jersey, and a stalwart supporter of labor.”
Congressman Pascrell expressed his gratitude to the 4,120 members of the labor organization:
“During the past 22 months, our nation has seen job growth in the private sector but we still have a lot of work to do in protecting public sector jobs,” said Pascrell, a lifelong resident and former mayor of Paterson. “I am grateful for the confidence the members of CWA Local 1039 have placed in me to fight in Congress for them, their jobs and their families. My pledge to them, and everyone in America’s middle class, is simple: You can count on me. I will not let you down.”
